The village of Five Timbers is a small village that sits in the shadow of Bloodspire Mountain, which was called the Red King in days of old. It sits just off of the road between Garrison and Murron's Pass. It is populated mainy by furtraders, woodsmen and trappers. Five Timbers is a small, but bustling hub of fur trading and woodwork. The village's name comes from the five ancient trees that stand sentinel at the village entrance, their gnarled roots and thick canopies offering a natural shelter. The air is rich with the earthy scent of pine and the distant sound of a burbling brook, which winds through the village, providing fresh water for its inhabitants.
Wooden cottages, with moss-covered roofs and smoke curling from their chimneys, line the narrow, winding paths. Each home is adorned with intricately carved wooden signs depicting the trade of its owner— trapper, hunter, furrier, carpenter. The village is particularly known for its trappers. The heart of the village is a small but lively marketplace, where traders haggle over the rich pelts of fox, otter, and beaver, their vibrant colors displayed like treasures.
In the evenings, the villagers gather around the hearth at the Blunted Ax, which serves as tavern, inn, tradepost and town hall, all in one. Here the locals tell stories of their hunts and exchange tips on trapping and foraging. The people here are a mix of hardy woodsfolk. There is a number of orcs living here as well, some of which are exiles, others are deserters from the Coalition. It's a tight knit community where everyone is expected to fight should the village be attacked. The total population here hovers around 150 people.
The Blunted Ax is run by a Gyrtha, a fat woman and Renald, her skinny husband. Morrith, a half orc, tends bar.
